The cat does not react to your approach.
You try to say hello, it does not respond or react in any way. You clap your hands to the same effect. No amount of hooting, hollering, frantic gesturing, or stomping around seems able to get this animal to acknowledge you in any capacity.
Frustrated and feeling insulted by its complete lack of interest in you, you move to grab and forcibly rock the chair, when suddenly the cat sits up, alert, hairs on end before your hand could even reach the chair. That seems to have gotten its attention.
"State your business," the cat hisses at you. You weren't expecting to have a run in with a talking cat today, but stranger things have happened before.
"I want to know what this place is." "I want to know what you are."
> Back away from the cat.
